aka The Frazzled Mom
So you want to write a best selling novel…
Picture this: Family and friends have said the writing was amazing and should be considered for publication. The new writer ponders the idea, perhaps for several months, before thinking, “Yeah! How hard can it be?” The new writer finds it hard not to think that way. They make it look so easy. Oh, but it isn’t. Even those authors who’ve been at it for a while may find the task daunting and frustrating to say the least. Conflicting information on what to do and what not to do can send the new author into a spiral of hopelessness.
Having experienced the journey of an independent author (and still learning), I understand how hard it is and how easy it can be to finally say, “I give up”. If you are a writer, I hope you don’t ever come to that decision. Giving up on any goal only leads to guilt and depression. Rise above it, work to improve your weaknesses while maintaining your strengths. How? We’ll get to that later in the series.
Once the manuscript is ready, what then? Please join me in the Writer’s Series, where guest bloggers will offer insight from what they’ve learned in the world of writing. We will explore the what, when, why, where and how of publishing a novel.
