Writer’s Series: Geocaching

When my family went on vacation to Lake Arrowhead, one thing I introduced to them was geocaching. Ever heard of it? It’s like modern day treasure hunting. Our first find was within a green box in Lake Arrowhead. My kids were so excited to find it and search within for what was inside. We had items that we placed in the box, in exchange for others and we signed a log stating we had visited and on what date.caching

So when I discovered blogger, Sarah Nego, who posted the idea of using geocaching as a way to promote a writer’s book…what fun! Marks the Spot explains how we, as authors, might participate in geocaching as a way to get the word out about our book. I think it is an interesting idea to not only leave swag behind in the cache (such as a bookmark, etc), but also to post the coordinates on your website for others to search for.
