aka The Frazzled Mom
From ordinary to extraordinary…something to admire.
The chef and owner of the Anaheim White House, a local restaurant, had lost everything in an electrical fire on February 4, 2017. While I’ve never been to this restaurant, I’d sent my parents there a few years ago for a nice evening out. They enjoyed everything, right down to the service. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but it was their anniversary, so I considered it a rare treat.
At any rate, when I’d booked the reservation for them, I’d read online how the chef had made it his personal mission to feed the hungry children in the area. Specifically, he feeds underprivileged children every night. An impressive endeavor and commitment by Chef Bruno Serato. So the heartbreak he felt when the fire destroyed everything was magnified. Not only did he lose his restaurant, but he also lost the means to cook for the children.
Another impressive part of the story is the flood of support that came in from the community, like a family coming together to help. While he still is working to rebuild his restaurant, he’s been able to continue feeding the children. To read more on the story, check out the Anaheim White House website.
